The jobs market has improved despite the struggling economy according to a new report.

Adzuna - a search engine for classified ads - said there were almost half a million vacancies in the UK, up by 4% over the past six months, although pay rates are declining.

Cambridge is one of the few places where there are more vacancies than unemployed people to fill them.

Youth unemployment continues to be a big issue facing the British job market today. There are still 974,000 16 to 24-year-olds unemployed in Britain and 17 applicants for every entry level vacancy.
