Two people have been left homeless after a fire destroyed their thatched cottage near Bury St Edmunds.

More than 70 firefighters were called to the property in Rattlesden after it caught fire late yesterday afternoon. Crews were on site for much of the night as part of the building collapsed. The pair were treated after breathing in smoke.
