Northampton recruits town ranger

Northampton Borough Council is to recruit a new Town Centre Ranger.

They will be tasked with improving the appearance and raising the standard of cleanliness in the town, including looking out for fly tipping, graffiti and litter.

The Borough Council is investing £50,000 in improvements such as replacing old street furniture and removing redundant signs.

Cllr David Mackintosh, Leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: "We are investing in a programme of work that will create a more welcoming environment in the town centre.

"We want to make sure that this investment, and all the work done on the Northampton in Bloom programme in the summer, is not wasted and that we raise the standard and keep it high.”
