Nine people have bail extended over Colchester stabbing

Nine people arrested in connection with the murder of a teenager from Clacton have had their bail extended.

Jay Whiston, who was 17, was stabbed at a house party in Marlowe Way in Colchester in September. A provisional post-mortem examination result showed that he died from a stab wound.

Five people from Colchester were arrested on suspicion of murder during the hours and days following the stabbing.

In mid-November, four people were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They have now all had their bail extended until Wednesday May 22 pending further enquiries.
