Man arrested in connection with stabbing in Clacton

A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident at Clacton. Police were called after a man suffered puncture wounds to his buttocks, leg and arm during an altercation at a shop in Old Road at about 6.50pm on Wednesday April 10.

The victim, who is in his 20s and from London, was taken to Colchester General Hospital but went home three hours later after treatment.

A 26-year-old man from Kent was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody this morning.

A 16-year-old boy from Clacton was arrested on suspicion of having an offensive weapon when he was stopped by police at Old Road at about 7.30pm.

Detectives have appealed for information from anyone who witnessed the attack inside the Premier Shop.
