Peterborough woman charged with attempted murder

Detectives investigating a double stabbing in which two men were injured have charged a woman with attempted murder.

West Mercia Police said the 30-year-old was charged on Saturday in connection with the attacks and is due to appear before Peterborough Magistrates' Court today.

The woman, who is from Peterborough, was detained shortly after two men were stabbed in Hereford on Tuesday April 2.

Following her arrest, she was taken to a secure unit for mental health assessment before being rearrested last Wednesday by officers from Cambridgeshire.

Gary Stretch, a 47-year-old man from Peterborough, has previously appeared before Hereford Magistrates' Court in connection with the incidents.
