River clean-up underway

The Environment Agency has started to remove several thousand tonnes of silt from a stretch of the River Nene

Between 6,000 and 7,000 tonnes will be removed from a 4km stretch upstream of White Mills Lock in Northamptonshire. The project costing four hundred thosand pounds will improve navigation and reduce the risk of flooding.
