Vote 2013: winners & losers

UKIP have had their best ever result in local elections with gains in the Anglia region. There were county council elections in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire and Suffolk on Thursday 2 May 2013.

UKIP making gains in Norfolk

UKIP have began taking seats from the Conservatives on Norfolk County Council.

Fred Agnew has beaten Conservative Tony Wright in Marshland North in the west of the county.

UKIP have also taken Gaywood North and Central from the Conservatives knocking them into third place behind Labour.

There are unconfirmed reports that UKIP are also winning in Dereham South, Breydon and Gorleston St Andrews.
