Plans for new university campus move forward

Plans for the proposed campus

Plans for a new £330m campus for the University of Northampton took a step forward after the Government approved a compulsory purchase order.

Under the order the site at Avon Nunn Mills - a brownfield site which includes a former Avon Cosmetics factory, and power station will be developed.

The scheme is being overseen by West Northamptonshire Development Corporation and will see a new state-of-the-art campus, with a new 1 mile spine road.

Work on the project should start in 2015, withy completion due by 2018.
