The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are to visit Cambridge later this month. They will arrive on Thursday May 23 and travel by the Cambridgeshire guided bus way to the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology.
A spokesperson said: “The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will tour the state-of-the art building visiting laboratories along the route. They will proceed to the main atrium and will unveil a plaque to mark their visit. The Royal party will then take lunch as guests of the laboratory.”
“In the afternoon The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will proceed by car to the Rosie Maternity Hospital. Her Majesty will visit the Birthing Centre, meeting staff and new mothers.
“The Duke of Edinburgh will visit the neonatal unit meeting staff and families and viewing medical equipment.
