Statues of local figures unveiled in Norwich

Three statues of local figures, chosen by Norwich pupils, are set to be unveiled today.

The three life-size figures are to be placed by the intersection of Station Approach and Riverside, so they can be enjoyed by thousands of people.

Last autumn, Norwich City Council ran a competition with local schools to find three characters - actual, mythical, living or dead - that should be immortalised in sheet steel.

There were many suggestions but they've now decided on Edith Cavell, Stephen Fry and Horatio Nelson.
