UKIP planning shake-up on Cambridgeshire council

Cambridgeshire County Council meets for the first time since the Conservatives were swept from power in the local elections. The Tories were five seats short of an overall majority after a surge in supports for UKIP.

UKIP's leader on the County Council, Peter Reeve wants a shake-up which will see the one-party Cabinet structure replaced by a committee system which sees all parties running the council's business.

Speaking on Anglia Late Edition, Mr Reeve said he also wants an Independent councillor to be the council leader instead of a Conservative although the Tories are still the largest party in Cambridgeshire.
