A diverted Pakistani International Airlines plane has been escorted into Stansted airport in Essex by military jets. Two men have been charged.

Air drama at Stansted as plane diverted

A Pakistan International Airlines jet has been guided in to Stansted airport by an RAF Typhoon fighter after being diverted from Manchester because of disruption on board.

The passenger jet was taken to an area away from the main terminal and shortly before three o'clock on Friday afternoon, Essex Police boarded the Boeing 777 and arrested two men on suspicion of endangerment of an aircraft.
