Labour takes leadership of Norfolk council

Labour have taken over leadership of Norfolk County Council after the Conservatives lost their overall majority in the local elections at the beginning of May.

George Nobbs, leader of the Labour group was elected Leader of the Council by 42 votes to 38.

Labour's Mick Castle has been appointed Cabinet Member for Education and Schools and James Joyce, the leader of the Lib Dem group is Cabinet Member for Safeguarding.

On Thursday, Labour, the Liberal Democrats and UKIP announced an agreement to work together to reform the council.
