Plane threat accused remanded in custory

Two men accused of endangering a Pakistani airlines plane that had to be diverted to Stansted have been remanded in custody.

Taxi driver Tayyab Subhani, 30, and restaurant worker Mohammed Safdar, 41, both from Nelson, Lancashire, appeared before magistrates in Chelmsford.

They were arrested after the passenger jet was diverted with an RAF fighter escort to the Essex airport on Friday.
