A controlled explosion of a world war two hand-grenade was carried out on Great Yarmouth beach after two gardeners discovered it while litter picking.
36-year-old Waylon Thompson and 28-year-old John Brooks were working in Dickens Court when they found the hand-grenade in some soil.
The 621 EOD from Colchester Garrison were called to the scene and quickly established it was a live hand-grenade. It was taken to the nearby beach, where a controlled explosion was carried out safely and swiftly.
