Police investigate Dunstable arson attack

Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an arson attack on a property in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened around 1am at a first floor flat in Viceroy Court, Dunstable.

An accelerant was forced through the front door of the flat and set on fire. The occupants of the property were not inside at the time but the blaze has caused a considerable amount of damage.

Detective Constable Cathie Layton is keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious.

“Thankfully no one has been harmed as a result of this attack but things could have been very different if the occupants had been at home at the time. We need to catch the person or persons who committed this offence as soon as possible and stop any further serious incidents from occurring."
