Woman in critical condition following Stevenage town centre attack

A woman is in a critical condition following an attack in Stevenage town centre.

The 29-year-old was in the bus station area close to the Standard Bearer pub last Friday at around 7pm.

She appears to have been struck on the head and police believe the attack continued after she fell to the floor.

The woman suffered a fractured skull and was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. She is in a critical but stable condition.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the police investigation.

Dale Teer, 35, of Winifred Road, Bedford, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and remanded in custody. He was due to appear in court this morning.

A 32-year-old man from Stevenage has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been released on police bail.
