The runway at Stansted Airport has been busy this morning, but it was runners, not planes, taking off.
The 5 kilometre charity run was organised to raise money for the Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance Trust.
It started at 3.30am and finished at about 5.00am; it is the first time the runway has been shut off for an event like this.
It follows Stansted Airport naming the air ambulance as its Charity of the Year.
