Pensioner forced to hand over cash

A 72 year old man has been forced to to hand over a large amount of cash to two strangers who threatened him on the street. It happened in Luton last week and police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

Bedfordshire Police say it was on Wednesday, June 19 between 3pm and 4pm when the victim was approached by a man and a woman at the junction of Beresford Road and Dunstable Road.

Both the offenders then threatened to hurt the victim and his family if he didn't hand over cash. He was taken in a silver or grey car to the Nat West Bank in George Street where he withdrew a large amount of cash and handed it to the two offenders.
