A burglar who was tracked down after her blood was found at the scene of a break-in in Wisbech has been jailed.
Laura Stasytiene, 28, formerly of Church Mews, Wisbech, broke into a home in Chapel Lane, Newton, while the owners were on holiday in October last year.
When the victims returned home they found the ground floor window had been smashed and jewellery worth more than £7,000 had been stolen as well as war medals which had a sentimental value.
In police interview, she denied the offence claiming she had never been to the house or the village of Newton.
However, on Thursday Stasytiene pleaded guilty to burglary and was jailed for a year at Cambridge Crown Court.

"Stasytiene thought she had got away with it but she had actually left her DNA at the scene of the crime which led us straight to her.
"She stole sentimental and valuable jewellery while the family were on holiday, I hope this sentence gives them some justice."
