Driver jailed for travelling the wrong way up A1 while four times over the drink drive limit

A drunk driver who drove the wrong way up the A1 while four times the legal limit has been jailed.

Sandeep Raj, 32, of Margetts Road, Kempston, appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday (July 12) and was jailed for nine months and disqualified from driving for two years.

He had pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving at an earlier hearing in May.

Raj was arrested at 9.15pm on Saturday, April 27, after members of the public called the control room reporting a car was travelling north on the southbound carriageway at Eaton Socon.
