A 38 million pound project to protect Ipswich from flooding began this morning. A traditional breaking the ground ceremony has been taking place on the construction site of the Ipswich tidal barrier.
The scheme is designed to reduce the risk to thousands of homes and businesses as well as the Suffolk County Council offices and the main fire station.
