Northampton Town have signed former Coventry City midfielder Gary Deegan on a one-year deal.
The 25-year-old has been on trial with the Cobblers, and the club have opted to offer the Irishman a contract.
Northampton manager Aidy Boothroyd told the clubs official website that he was happy to secure Deegan's services for next season.
"Gary is a player with a good pedigree and I am pleased to have signed him.
I have always said it is important to take our time to make sure we bring in the right players. Not only are we looking for good players, but players who offer variety and a blend and a balance to those who are already here and Gary certainly does that."
