Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings has signed a new contract to stay at the club until 2015.
The 20-year-old signed for the Tractor Boys from non-league Chippenham Town last December.
His current deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but manager Mick McCarthy has now decided to keep the 6 ft 3 in defender at Portman Road for an additional year.
Mings told the club's official website that he was pleased to sort out his future.
“I was delighted to sign my first contract here but to know the manager has shown confidence in me and wants me to stay is a big bonus.
“It gives me some stability, knowing my future is sorted for the next few years but I can’t rest on my laurels."
