Plans for the construction of the controversial high speed 2 rail project have been dealt another blow today after a report from the Public Accounts Committee deemed that the Department of Transport has yet to present a convincing case to justify the heavy investment.

The proposed rail network is planned to cut through parts of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire and is estimated to cost upwards of 40 billion pounds.
