Network Rail fined over worker death

The death of a railway worker in Essex has led to Network Rail being fined £125,000 for breaching health and safety laws.

64-year-old Malcolm Slater died in 2008 when the aerial platform he was working on sheared off. Two other workers suffered lasting injuries as Serena Sandhu reports.

Network Rail has today been fined £125,000 pounds and ordered to pay costs of £85,000 for breaching health and safety laws. 64-year-old Malcolm Slater died in 2008 when the aerial platform he was working on sheared off.
