Multi-million pound sea defence project for Essex

A £36 million pound scheme that will protect more than 3,000 homes in Essex from the risk of coastal flooding, has been given the green light.

It is the biggest project that Tendring District Council have ever had and covers a 5km stretch between Clacton Pier and Holland Haven.

It comes just two months after the Ipswich Tidal Barrier project was approved and work will start next month on another multi-million pound flood defence project in Great Yarmouth. Luke Farrington reports.
