DNA evidence has helped to convict a burglar who stole hundreds of pounds of goods from a couple's home.
Neil Simpson, 25, was still on license after being jailed for two years for burglary in June last year when he broke into a home in Lincoln Road, Walton, Peterborough, last month.
Simpson, who was jailed for two-and-a-half years, stole electrical goods including digital cameras, a portable games console, jewellery and alcohol.
Police discovered blood on a drawer which was linked to Simpson through DNA.
Simpson, of Francis Gardens, Peterborough, pleaded guilty to burglary and was jailed.
