Cley Marshes project gets £1.5m lottery boost

Plans to enhance Norfolk's Cley Marshes with a new wildlife education centre have been given a £1.5 million boost from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Norfolk Wildlife Trust says it is now moving forward with its ambitions to buy the land between its Cley and Salthouse Marshes and build the new Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre.

They say the new centre will meet a growing demand for information, education and events from the 110,000 visitors that visit the site each year.

More than £800,000 has also been donated by the public and local charitable trusts and businesses.
