Two of our region's sports stars have been shortlisted for awards in recognition of their fine starts to the season.
Northampton Saints centre Luther Burrell is among three nominees for the Aviva Premiership Player of the Month award for September alongside Bath's George Ford and Saracens flanker Jacques Burger.
The nomination is the latest boost for the 25-year-old, who was involved in his first England tour this summer in Argentina.
Meanwhile, Ipswich Town's David McGoldrick has also been nominated for a monthly award for his fine September form in the Sky Bet Championship.
The former Nottingham Forest forward hit four goals during the month, bagging braces against Middlesbrough and Brighton and Hove Albion.
He'll have to see off two former Norwich City players to land the award, with Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Robert Green and Burnley's Jason Shackell also shortlisted, alongside Reading midfielder Danny Guthrie.
Finally, Essex cricketer Reece Topley will find out later tonight if he's been named as the PCA's Young Player of the Year at the Association's awards ceremony in London.
