First World War heroine remembered

A memorial service has been held in Norwich for a Norfolk nurse who helped saved hundreds of soldiers' lives during the First World War.

Veterans gathered at Norwich Cathedral to remember Edith Cavell. Born in Swardeston, she worked in Belgium during the conflict and helped hundreds of allied soldiers escape to safety.

Edith was executed by a German firing squad in 1915.

A memorial service has taken place at Norwich Cathedral in memory of a nurse killed by the Germans during the First World War.
