Thieves steal charity cash in social club robbery

A cleaner was tied up and threatened with a crow bar as thieves stole a charity collection and money saved for a children's Christmas event.

The two men also broke into a safe and gambling machines at the British Rail Sports and Social Club at St Andrew's Road, in Northampton.

The robbers followed the cleaner into the social club between 7.30am and 8.15am on Monday.

The first man is described as 5ft 6ins, aged in his 20s and he was wearing a white scruffy jacket and a red-and-white head covering.

The second man is black, 6ft, of slim build and also in his 20s.

He was wearing a black balaclava, a green parka and blue jogging bottoms.
