The Met Office have issued a yellow alert for the Anglia region due to the risk of damaging winds early next week. The public are advised to be aware of the potential for an exceptionally windy day on Monday.
During this time, a very intense low pressure is expected to cross the south of the British Isles bringing the risk of gusts in excess of 70 miles per hour for East Anglian coasts along with persistent and heavy rain.
This storm is currently assessed as a "low probability, high impact" event. This means that details at this stage remain uncertain; much depends on the precise track of the Atlantic low. However, if these wind strengths do occur, they may damage property and disrupt transport and power supplies.
