Police say they are looking into why officers did not find a body - discovered yesterday at the Suffolk home of a missing teenager - sooner.
Eighteen-year-old Miller Redpath has not been seen since the middle of August.
Suffolk Police admitted they had carried out a search at his home in Wenhaston, near Halesworth, when he was first reported missing.
A post mortem examination is being carried out on the body, which was found in the property's overgrown garden yesterday, and officers are working to establish if it is that of Mr Redpath.
