Flood siren tests called off

Plans to test flood sirens in Northampton have been called off because of the bad weather.

The Environment Agency and Northampton Borough Council say the tests, scheduled for Wednesday, could have caused confusion or unnecessary concern to people living in the area.

The Anglia region was hit by damaging winds and heavy rain after an Atlantic storm swept across the UK on Monday 28 October - St Jude's Day. Nearly half a million homes were left without power in the region and there was major travel disruption.
