A man's in a serious but stable condition in hospital after he was stabbed several times during a burglary in Luton.
Police say it happened around half past three on Saturday morning when three men forced their way into a house in Wellfield Avenue while everyone was sleeping.
The 47 year old victim woke up and confrionted the burglars but was stabbed. The men then ran away.
The victim's wife and daughter raised the alarm and he was taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
DC Mo Hussain is keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen the three offenders.
The first offender was a black male around 20 years of age, 5 feet tall. The second offender was also a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall. The third offender was a black male, around 20 years old.
