Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a toddler after she was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The girl, aged two, died at Peterborough City Hospital yesterday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Scenes-of-crimes officers are currently at a house in Yaxley on the outskirts of Peterborough.
A 28-year-old woman, believed to be the girl's mother, and her 19-year-old boyfriend have been arrested and are being held in custody at Thorpe Wood police station, Peterborough.
Cambridgeshire Police are continuing to investigate the death of the toddler:
"The child had been taken to hospital at 11am with serious injuries but died shortly before 1pm."
