Norwich City captain Sebastien Bassong has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the club.
The 27-year-old is now contracted to the Canaries until the summer of 2016.
Cameroonian defender Bassong has been a stand-out performer since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, securing the Fans' Player of the Season Award in his first campaign with the club.
That form resulted in him being handed the captain's armband at Carrow Road following Grant Holt's departure to Wigan Athletic.
Speaking to the club's official website, Bassong said that he was more than happy to commit his future to the club.
“I’m really pleased. It's something I have been looking forward to doing, as being team captain I think it is something really important to commit myself even more to the Club."
