ITV News Anglia has conducted a special investigation into the plight of Eastern Europeans who come to live and work in this region.
More than 100,000 people have migrated from Latvia to Britain in search of a better life, many settling here in the East of England.
For some it means higher wages than they could earn at home, but for those less fortunate it can lead to exploitation.
Our business correspondent Matthew Hudson has travelled to Latvia to find out why so many young people there want to make the journey.
