Security guard hurt in Asda robbery

A security guard was injured during an armed robbery at Asda in Biggleswade last night. Staff were cashing up at the store in Church Street at 10pm when four masked men entered and demanded money. They were armed with what's thought to have been copper pipes made to look like guns.

They threatened staff and assaulted the security guard before escaping with a substantial amount of cash. The offenders left in a dark blue Audi A4 on false ’52 number plates, which has since been recovered. Anyone with information should contact Det Con Surinder Ram, from Bedford CID.
