A sea defence scheme to protect around 400 homes around Clacton at a cost of £36 million goes before planners this week.

The Environment Agency has approved the plans and Tendring District Council are expected to give them the go ahead at a meeting on 7 January.

Fishtail groynes would be built along a 5km stretch of coastline from Clacton Pier to Holland Haven in Essex.
