Sea defence scheme gets green light from council

A sea defence scheme in Clacton in Essex has been granted planning permission by the district council.

The five kilometre project involves building 23 groynes along the seafront, each 90 metres long. It will cost £36 million, most of which will be funded by the Environment Agency.
