Suffolk soldier held on drugs charges

A serving soldier has been charged with attempting to import a Class A drug after being arrested at Heathrow, authorities said. Daryl Archer, 26, was held at Terminal One on Wednesday following the seizure of about five kilos of cocaine.

Archer, of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps, was arrested by Border Force officers after arriving on a flight from Sao Paulo in Brazil.

The soldier, formerly of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, and now living in Merville Barracks, Colchester, has been charged with attempting to import a Class A drug.
