A man from Essex has had an emotional reunion with his missing pets.

Springer spaniels Nell and Larsson were stolen from Gary's home near Witham a few weeks ago.

They were found nearby by the Stolen and Stray Pet Recovery Organisation who believe they were going to be sold as breeding dogs.

For Gary these dogs are more than family pets, they're a lifeline. He says he was overwhelmed to see them again.

"As I opened the door Nelly and Larsson were there.... Absolutely wonderful. I was crying, it was a numb feeling. I just couldn't believe it."

A few years ago Gary had leukaemia and he says seeing photos of Larsson got him through that. A short while later Gary broke his neck and says both dogs helped him to recover. Now he's got them back he plans to spoil them.
