Norwich City has successfully appealed against the red card shown to Bradley Johnson in Tuesday night's match against Newcastle United.

The Football Association confirmed the decision had been rescinded meaning the player would no longer serve a three-match ban.

Referee Chris Foy showed a red card to Newcastle United striker Loic Remy in the 82nd minute of the game.

Following consultation with his assistant referee, he then also showed a red card to Norwich midfielder Johnson.

Canaries boss Chris Hughton said: “It’s very good news for us. Our feeling at the time was that it was a very harsh decision so credit to those who had to make the decision to uphold our appeal.”

Remy's red card still stands.
