Man 'critical' after being found unconscious

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man suffered serious head injuries following an incident in Hockley, Essex.

The 41 year old was discovered unconscious in the Broad Walk area by a member of the public just before 8am yesterday morning (Saturday 1 February).

He was taken to Southend Hospital but was transferred to Queens Hospital in London. He is in a critical condition.

A 36-year-old man from Hockley is currently at Southend Police Station helping officers with their enquiries.

Police would like to speak to anybody who has any information or who witnessed how the man came about his injuries.
