Police are appealing for help to trace a 33-year-old Felixstowe man who went missing on Saturday night, 1 February.

Matthew Scales had an argument with his partner and had been drinking and he was last seen around 8pm on Saturday in the Brightwell Close area of the town.

Attempts have been made to contact him since but his mobile phone was found a short distance from where he was last seen after a search by friends and he’s not thought to have any cash or bank cards with him.

Mr Scales was reported missing to police this morning, Monday 3 February, and there is concern for his well-being. Police have made some initial contact with friends and family but at this stage no one appears to have seen him since.

He is described as white, around 5ft 7ins – 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build, with receding thinning light brown hair. At the time he went missing he was wearing a dark Puffa-style jacket, blue jeans and brown leather boots.

Police are asking Mr Scales or anyone who may have seen him since Saturday evening, or anyone who knows where he is now, to contact the duty sergeant at Felixstowe Police Station as soon as possible by dialling 101.
