The Assistant Chief Fire Officer of the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has admitted that domestic gas could have been the cause of a serious explosion in Clacton this morning.
ACFO Paul Hill went on to say that an investigation into the incident is now underway, and although a gas complication looks to be the cause of the blast, investigators can't be certain until the examination is complete.
"At the moment, it it looks like it involved domestic gas," he said.
"But we can't be sure until we've finished the fire investigation."
