Drivers warned of A14 overnight closures

Drivers are being warned that part of the A14 Kettering bypass will be closed for five nights as part of its £42million scheme to improve safety and relieve congestion.

The westbound carriageway will shut between junctions 9 and 7 from 8pm until 6am from Monday 17 to Friday 21 of February.

The work involves vegetation removal and installation of temporary safety barriers on the slip roads at junction 8. At the same time the opportunity will be taken to carry out some carriageway repairs.

We endeavour to avoid overnight working as far as possible, however we cannot do these works during the day as we need to close the carriageway.

There may be some disturbance to local residents, as removing vegetation and installing new barriers can be noisy, but we will of course do our best to minimise this by doing the noisiest work as early as possible during the closure period."
